How to Swap SSD in PC (Upgrade from HDD to SSD)

My brother gave me a new SSD as a Christmas gift, and I want to replace the old hard drive on my PC with the new SSD. I didn't do it before and had no experience. Do you know how to swap SSD in a PC? I would appreciate it if you can give me some tips.

Three main steps will be involved to upgrade from HDD to SSD in a Windows computer:

  • 1. Connect or install SSD on your computer.
  • 2. Clone Data from HDD to SSD.
  • 3. Replace HDD with the cloned SSD and boot from SSD.

If your computer has an SSD slot, you can install it directly. And if not, you can connect the SSD to your computer with a SATA-to-USB cable.

Then clone your data from HDD to SSD. The Windows system doesn't have a built-in disk cloning feature, so you need to use third-party tools like EaseUS Disk Copy, a professional disk and partition cloning software. It will help you clone the entire HDD to SSD with simple clicks, including all data and settings.

After cloning your data, you can remove the HDD from your computer and replace it with the cloned SSD. Then reboot your computer and ensure everything is running smoothly on your new SSD drive.

Swapping SSD in a PC isn't a difficult task as you imagine, and EaseUS Disk Copy will make it easy for you. With its help, you can upgrade your HDD to SSD without any data loss or reinstallation of the Windows system.
