How to Make a Bootable Clone of My Windows 7 Hard Drive

I recently assembled a new computer and installed Win 7 Ultimate (64-bit.) And I got a new internal SSD. I installed it on my Windows 7 PC today, and now I need to figure out how to move Win 7 to it so that I can boot off of it and use the other hard drive for files.

Many ways are available to make a bootable clone of a Windows 7 hard drive, and using professional disk cloning software is the easiest and quickest way to do it. It will ensure a smooth disk cloning process and save your precious time.
EaseUS Disk Copy is an excellent disk cloning tool that allows you to clone a hard drive with all the data, settings, and applications intact. It supports creating an exact copy of your hard drive and cloning a hard drive in Windows 7/8/10/11 to either HDD or SSD without booting problems.

Follow the steps to make a bootable clone of your Windows 7 hard drive:

  • 1. Connect or install the new HDD/SSD on your Windows computer. (Ensure that the HDD/SSD is larger than the source disk.)
  • 2. Download and install EaseUS Disk Copy on your computer.
  • 3. Click the "Disk Mode" on the home page, and then select the source disk you want to clone and click "Next".
  • 4. Choose the new HDD/SSD as the destination disk, and click "Next".
  • 5. Click "OK" to confirm the notice that the cloning will erase all data on the target disk.
  • 6. Check the layout of the target disk and click "Proceed" to start the cloning process.

Now, you've got a cloned disk without any booting issues. When you need to boot from the clone HDD/SSD, you need to

  • Shut down your PC and install the cloned disk on your Windows computer.
  • Restart your computer, and press F2/F8 continuously to enter the BIOS setting.
  • Navigate to the Boot tab, and change the boot drive to the new cloned hard drive.
  • Save the change, and restart your PC. Now, it will boot from the cloned hard drive rather than the original one.

Using EaseUS Disk Copy to clone a hard drive in Windows 7 is easy and efficient. It offers an effective way to make a bootable clone of your hard drive without any difficulties or data loss.
