How Often Should File be Backed Up?

I am curious about everyone's method for backing up files. I use File History to automatically back up project files and external hard drives once a week to some network storage. How often do you back up your files? Any advice?

There is no definite answer to "How often should files be backed up?" But there is no doubt that backing up your files at a fixed frequency is crucial because any data and files can be lost by accident.

If you really want to follow a specific frequency, you can divide your file according to their importance:

  • For these essential files: You are supposed to run a backup for them at least once or twice a day.
  • For some files of medium importance: You should back them up about once a week or every two weeks.
  • For the less critical files: For these less essential files, such as the application's configuration files, you don't need to back up them so frequently. Maybe once a month or once every two months is a good way.

Choosing an automatic and reliable backup tool will save you a lot of hassle and back up your files easily. EaseUS Todo Backup is the choice for most people for its easy-to-use and multiple functions. It allows you to save a copy of your files, folders, disks, partitions, system, and even APP data.
