I have a boot drive SSD, and now I want to clone it to another NVMe SSD to obtain more capacity. But I found that my laptop has only one NVMe SSD slot. What should I do? Is there any simple way?
I have 2 methods for cloning boot drive SSD onto new NVMe SSD with only one NVMe SSD slot.
The first method is very simple, but you need to pay extra money to buy a device - you need a USB to M.2 SSD converter. First of all, you should connect the purchased adapter to your computer through a USB slot, and use high-performance cloning software to clone your boot drive SSD to the new NVMe SSD.
The second method requires you to prepare an external USB hard drive. First, you need to connect the external hard drive to your laptop, run the cloning tool, and first clone the boot drive SSD to this hard drive. Then replace the SSD with a new NVMe SSD you provide and use the cloning tool again to start the final cloning.
Both methods have been proven to be effective. The first method needs to purchase additional converters, but it only uses the cloning tool once. If you already have an external hard drive, the second method will not bring money loss, but the disadvantage is that you need to use the secondary cloning tool, and the whole operation process takes longer.
After you decide which method to use, you need to choose a suitable cloning software, and EaseUS Disk Copy can meet all your needs.
As a very practical cloning software, it can not only provide basic cloning functions but also cope with a variety of difficult cloning tasks through its powerful capabilities. Now, you can download this software, and clone the boot drive SSD onto a new NVMe SSD with only one NVMe SSD slot according to the method provided by me.
