I have bought a new computer and want to use the hard drive from my old PC on it. How can I transfer my hard drive onto the new computer? I would appreciate any suggestions.

You can move a hard disk to another computer if the new computer has an empty slot and supports the drive's interface.
I assume you are talking about the HDD with the operating system installed. Moving it to another computer is fine if it's just a data drive with no OS.
The OS relies on communicating with devices, including RAM, CPU, Display card, and keyboard. Although there are numerous standards, each motherboard handles that differently, but the OS on your current computer is set up to function effectively in that setup. If you connect the OS HDD in different ways, the OS might not be able to communicate the components properly.
Operating systems today typically handle this well (same as when you get a new keyboard and plug it in, the OS realizes, installs the driver, and it works).
As a result, the initial boot will take longer as drivers are discovered and installed, and there may be a few reboots, but everything will still work as it should.
Nevertheless, before making this transfer, I highly advise you to back up any data you created and have on the drive!
The easiest and best way to back up your data is to use professional backup software, like EaseUS Todo Backup.
It can help you back up your system, disk, file, and partition and save the backups in various locations, such as the local drive, NAS, Cloud, and Security Zone. It can also help you clone your hard drive and create an iso image of your hard drive.
Yes, you can transfer your hard drive to another PC. But before you start the process, you should better back up your data on the drive using EaseUS Todo Backup.
