The answer is YES, it is possible to back up personal files in a partition on a Windows computer.

There are two main actions to conduct the process. The first step is creating a new partition on your hard drive. The next step is saving and backing up your personal files to the newly created partitions. EaseUS Todo Backup is a professional backup program that will make your process easier.

Action 1. Create a new partition.

  • Press the Windows key + X to open the Quick Link menu.
  • Click on Disk Management.
  • Locate the drive that you want to create a partition on.
  • Right-click on the drive and select New Simple Volume.
  • Follow the prompts to create the new partition.

Action 2. Back up files to the newly created partition.

  • Launch EaseUS Todo Backup on your Windows computer, and click Select backup content.
  • Click the file to choose the data you need to back up.
  • Select the new partition as the backup destination.
  • Tap Backup Now to start the process.

Although backing up and saving your personal files in a partition is possible, it is not recommended because a partition is a portion of your hard disk. You will lose everything if your hard drive fails. Making a partition does not provide you with additional room.

As an alternative, save your file backups on an external hard drive or other storage space that keeps backup files distinct from the original data.

EaseUS Todo Backup lets you save backups to several destinations, such as an external hard drive, NAS, or cloud service. It will not disappoint you once you download and try it.
