Got a failing hard drive that is going to crash at any time? How would you arrange the operating system, data, files and programs stored there? Don't just discard the drive along with the contents inside. It's time to safely migrate what's important on the drive to a safe place before it gets completely dead and inaccessible. Here in this page, you're about to learn how to transfer failing hard drive to new one with a free disk clone program.

Technically, when we copy a hard drive, it's a file-by-file copy which is faster than a sector-by-sector manner. However, a failing hard drive may result in some damage to the file system, then this won't work if you just use "copy and paste" method. EaseUS Partition Master is free a third-party hard drive & partition management software which allows the sector-by-sector copy in case that the file system went wrong. With the free partition manager, people even with little technical background are able to transfer the failing hard drive OS, data, pictures, documents, music, games, movies, and applications along with the settings to a new one with no hassle.

How to transfer failing hard drive to a new drive with EaseUS Partition Master

To achieve a successful transferring result, there are some elements that people should notice.

1. The new replacement should be no smaller than that of the used space on the failing drive, i.e. the new drive should be large enough to contain the data waiting to be transferred on the source drive.

2. The new drive should be empty, or else the data will be erased. So always have a backup.

3. Boot disk cannot act as the destination disk.
