Getting a new iPhone is an exciting experience, but transferring important files like contacts from the old Android to the new iPhone isn't. Part 1. Transfer Contacts from Android to iPhone via Move to iOS App

Moving your contacts from Android to iPhone is easier than ever with the Move to iOS app, the first Android app developed by Apple that can transfer much of your existing Android data except for apps, music, and settings from Android to iPhone. But it is worth mentioning that this app is only available on iPhone/iPad running iOS 9 or higher and Android 4.0 or later.

To get started, make sure both the iPhone and Android are connected to WiFi and then plug both of your phones into a power source.

Step 1. Set up your iPhone until you reach the step of "App & Data." (If you've set up your data, you have to erase your device and start over. If you don't want to lose, just jump to Part 2 to transfer contacts without erasing.)

Step 4. Tap Continue on both Android and iPhone.

Step 5. Tap the "Agree," then "Next" in the top-right corner of the Find Your Code screen.

Step 6. On your Android device, enter the 12-digital code that appeared on the iPhone.

Step 7. After your Android successfully connects with your iPhone, you can choose what you'd like to move to your iPhone.

Note: If you have already set up your iPhone and have a lot of new data stored on your new iPhone, you need to erase your iOS device and start over. Or you can also follow the steps in Part 2 to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone without erasing.

Email is another option to transfer contacts from Android to iPhone. Before getting started, don't forget to back up your Android data. 

Step 1. On your Android device, find your Gmail account and tap "Sync Now." 

Step 2. On your iPhone, go to the Settings app and tap "Passwords & Accounts." (or Mail, Contacts, Calendar in some old versions of iOS)

Step 3. Tap "Account" > "Add Account" > Select "Other" and enter your info > Tap "Next."

Step 4. Go back to the Account screen and set the "Contacts" to ON.

Step 5. Once the process is over, open your Contacts app on your iPhone, and syncing will automatically begin.

Part 4. How to Transfer Contacts from Android to iPhone via SIM

If your Android phone uses the same size SIM card as the iPhone, then you can insert the SIM card into your iPhone and export contacts to it with ease. Of course, if your SIM card is larger than iPhone's SIM slot, you can cut it down. The steps are divided into two parts: First of all, move contacts from Android to SIM cards. Then, go to insert this SIM card into your iPhone. More steps are listed below.

On the Huawei phone: Go to the Settings > Import/export > Export to SIM card.

On the Samsung phone: Go to Manage contacts > Import/Export > Export to SIM card.

Step 1. Insert your Android phone's SIM card into the iPhone.

Step 2. Go to the Settings > Contacts > Import SIM Contacts.

Step 3. Then, all of your contacts will be saved on your iPhone.

Part 5. How to Transfer Contacts from Android to iPhone via VCF File

VCF, known as Virtual Contact File, is a file type used for importing and exporting contacts. If you have one or two contacts to transfer, then this is a good option for you.

Step 1. Open the Contacts app on your Android device.

Step 2. Hit the three-dots to open the menu and tap "Share."

Step 3. Choose the contacts you'd like to transfer and tap "Share."

Step 4. Select VCF as the format your contacts are when transfer.

Step 5. Choose a way to transfer the VCF files. Either email or text message is a good choice.

Step 6. Download and open the VCF files on your iPhone and choose to add the contacts to your iPhone.
