In some cases, iPad memory will show up as full even though there are no large files. There are quick solutions to the causes.

How to free up the full iPad storage

To check how much space is still available and which contents use up the storage space, there is a different view of iOS on the iPad:

  • 1. Open the settings.
  • 2. Select the section "General".
  • 3. Now you can access the overview for "Storage & iCloud Usage".
  • 4. Select the "Manage Storage" option.

The result is a list of the apps and other data that occupy storage space. You can also use the "Manage Storage" option to tidy up the iPad when there is little storage left:

  • 1. Select an app you no longer need.
  • 2. The size of the app is displayed first.
  • 3. If you find out that the application is a storage devourer or that you don't even need the app, select "Delete App". Space is already available.

In addition, take a close look at the areas of "music" and "videos". Here you will find media files that usually take up a lot of space. If you have purchased several movies from iTunes and stored them in memory, the iPad storage can quickly become full. Separate yourselves from unnecessary movies and songs. If the content was purchased via iTunes or another service, you can usually download it again quickly and easily via your user account at any time.

If you're reluctant to delete the media files, you can backup them to your PC with EaseUS MobiMover. As a free iPad data transfer software, you can use it to easily back up your iPhone/iPad content to your PC, share files between iOS devices and sync content from PC to your device without any cost. The supported files are photos, videos, music, contacts, notes, calendars and more. With the following steps, I will tell you how to backup all your iPad files to computer with MobiMover at one time. If you need to export a specific data type from iPad, such as transfer music from iPad to computer, MobiMover also can provide you with such a flexible feature.

If you want to transfer photos from iPad to computer, please select the option those related to photos only: Camera Roll, Photo Stream, and Photo Library.

There is no direct way to insert an SD card in the iPad to expand the iOS storage. So anyone who collects a lot of files, videos, photos and more by default should take advantage of an iPad model with a larger internal storage capacity. With versions with 32GB, the internal memory is usually full in a flash, with models with 256GB memory, several films can still be stored on the iPad.
