Most of us at some point in our lives have switched mobile - either from one phone brand to another or replace our phone with the same brand. Every time when we replace our device, data migration becomes a headache, especially when you switch your phone between two different brands, such as transferring data from Android to iPhone. But fortunately, Apple developers are aware of this headache issue and working hard to provide users with an app called Move to iOS to get the job done.
Apart from that, other third-party developers also provide you with some easy and quick ways to get your data from your Android device Samsung to your iPhone.
In today’s guide, we will show you how to transfer data from Samsung to iPhone.
Many users worry about losing important information on their devices. To ensure a smooth transition without data loss, you can do some preparations:
If you're sure that you have prepared everything, then you can use the following three methods to transfer data from your Samsung to your iPhone.
Below are three methods that are frequently used to transfer data from Samsung to iPhone. Now, you can check them to learn more details.
Move to iOS is an Android app developed by Apple to help Android users make a smooth transition while changing their Android device to an iPhone. It is free and very convenient. You can download it from the Google Play Store and then follow these steps to complete the transfer process.
But before that, make sure your Samsung running Android 4.0 and later and your iPhone hasn't been set up. If your iPhone has been set up, you'll need to reset it to factory settings by going to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings to restart.
Warm Notice: Not all data is supported by Move to iOS. Currently, the supported data include Contacts, Calendars, Message history, Whatsapp messages, Photos (and photo albums), Videos, Files (and folders), some settings, your Google account, other email accounts, and some free apps.
Step 1. Set up your iPhone until you see the "App & Data" screen, from where choose the "Move data from Android" option.
Step 2. Launch and open the Move to iOS app on your Samsung.
Step 3. Tap "Continue" on your Samsung and iPhone.
Step 4. Tap "Agree" > "Next" on your Samsung device.
Step 5. Enter the digit code you receive on your iPhone in your Samsung.
Step 6. Select the data you wish to transfer on Samsung and tap "Next" to start transferring.
Step 7. Then, you can follow the onscreen instruction to finish the rest of the steps.
Another possible way to transfer data from Samsung to iPhone is to find a service that supports both Android and iOS devices. Thus, you can directly sync data from one device to another. Email is such a service that you need. Most email providers are compatible with Android, iPhone, Windows, and macOS. So you can choose one as the way for data migration.
But one thing that should be noted is that not all data can be synced with email. Currently, the popular supported data include Contacts, Mail, and Calendar. If your data type is included in this list, check these steps to sync Contacts/Mail/Calendar from Samsung to iPhone. Here we take Gmail for example.
Step 1. On your Samsung, go to Settings and select your Gmail account.
Step 2. Tap "Sync Contacts/Mail/Calendars" > "Sync Now." Then, the selected data will be synced to your account.
Step 3. Navigate to your iPhone, go to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendar (or Accounts & Passwords) > Add Account > Gmail.
Step 4. Then, enter your Gmail account details and tap "Next."
Step 5. Turn on Mail, Contacts, and Calendar sync option.
This method is more complicated than the above-introduced two methods. If you don't mind the complex process, then follow these steps to sync your media files like music, photos, and videos to your iPhone with iTunes.
First of all, transfer data from Android to your computer.
Step 1. Connect your Samsung device to the computer and transfer the songs, photos, and videos to your computer. (You can use some data transfer apps like Android File Transfer to help you do it)
Step 2. Disconnect your Samsung device and connect your iPhone to the computer.
Then, you can sync the files imported from your Samsung device to your iPhone with iTunes.
Step 1. Launch the latest version of iTunes on your computer.
Step 2. Click "File" > "Add Folder to Library," and choose the folder that houses your Samsung data.
Step 3. Click your iPhone icon, then choose "Photos" or "Music."
Step 4. Then, you can select the entire folder or specific items you wish to sync, then click "Apply."
An app called Smart Switch can help you migrate data from iOS to Samsung. First of all, you'll need to download this app from the Google Play Store on your Samsung device. Then, you can follow these steps to transfer data from your iPhone to Samsung wirelessly.
