How to Export Outlook Calendar to iPhone Freely

I figured out how to sync iTunes on my desktop computer with my phone, but that doesn't do me any good because there isn't any content in iTunes. So how do I get my Outlook data into iTunes?  Contacts are the most important thing, but I'm also interested in transferring my calendar and tasks. By the way, I have no intention of transferring my Outlook content using iCloud, at least for now. I assume (hope) it can be done without iCloud.
