There are three types of messages on your iPhone, iMessage, text messages (SMS), and multimedia messages(MMS). iMessages are texts, photos, or videos that you send to another device that also supports iMessage via a Wi-Fi or cellular data network. While SMS and MMS are texts and photos and sending SMS or MMS requires a text-messaging plan which is provided by your wireless carrier.
No matter what kind of message you use, you can export messages from your iPhone using one of the ways below.
It's quite easy to export messages from your iPhone using the email service. Via email, you can export iMessage from your iPhone to another device that supports email checking. Step 1. Open the Messages app on your iPhone and click the conversation you want to save.
Step 2. Press and hold one of the texts in the conversation and choose "More..."
Step 3. Click the checkbox near the texts to select the entire conversation.
Step 4. After the selection, click the forward icon to create a new message.
Step 5. Enter your email address in the box and hit "Send" to export your iPhone messages via email.
