Why should we backup iPhone contacts?

There are several reasons why you should back up your contacts on your iPhone. On the one hand, the backup makes it easier to move data to another device if necessary. On the other hand, you are also on the safe side if your iPhone is lost or broken.

It used to be easy to transport contacts on the SIM card from one mobile phone to another. Today, the contacts contain much more data and details, so that the iPhone, for example, no longer stores the contacts on the SIM. If you want to move to a different mobile phone or simply backup your iPhone contacts, you have to choose a simple and secure method. Although no one probably wants to steal our contacts, the data scandals of recent times have once again shown us that security is an important factor.

Easiest way: Back up iPhone contacts in iCloud

There are basically several ways to back up your backup photos on your iPhone. The easiest way to do this is to backup in iCloud. Once you subscribe to the service, you can automatically synchronize your contacts with Internet storage and all other iOS devices. To backup your contacts, go to Settings > iCloud on your iPhone. Then scroll down to the "Contacts" and activate it. The next time when you back up your iCloud, contacts will be automatically synchronized and loaded to your mobile phone when your iPhone is restored.

Or you can use the backup function in iCloud: Go to Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Backup > Turn it on > Back Up Now. Then your iPhone contacts will be backed up in iCloud as well as your other iPhone contents.

Method 2. Backup iPhone contacts with Google Mail

If you use Google Mail, you can also use it to back up your iPhone contacts. The advantage over iCloud is that even if you transfer data from iOS to Android, the contact details of your friends and family members can be easily taken along.

  • 1. Under Settings -> iCloud -> Mail, Contacts, Calendar go to Add Account.
  • 2. In the next window choose Google.
  • 3. By Name please enter your sender name.
  • 4. E-mail is your own complete e-mail address.
  • 5. The password is the password you use to log in to Google. Unless you've activated the two-step login. Then you have to generate a password for it in the web interface at Google.
  • 6. The description is freely selectable and serves only for the recognition of the account in the settings.

Method 3. Backup iPhone contacts with EaseUS MobiMover Free
