Method 1. Free iOS data transfer software to back up iPad data

Step 1: Connect your iPhone/iPad to your PC with a USB cable. Please tap Trust This Computer on the device screen if a pop-up appears and requires. Start EaseUS MobiMover and select the iDevice to PC pattern in the main interface.

Method 2. Back up iPad data in iCloud

You can use iCloud to create an iOS device backup using a WLAN connection. You don't have to connect the device to a computer or even be at home to back up with iCloud. iCloud backups contain almost all the data and settings stored on your device.

  • Connect your device to a WLAN network.
  • Select Settings > [your name], and then tap iCloud. If you are using iOS 10.2 or older, just tap iCloud in Settings.
  • Tap on "iCloud Backup". If you are using iOS 10.2 or older, tap Backup. Make sure the iCloud backup option is turned on.
  • Tap on "Create backup now". Do not disconnect from the WLAN network until the operation is complete.

Method 3. Back up iPad data via iTunes

Use your Mac or PC to back up an iOS device in iTunes. Synchronizing the device with your computer is not the same as backing up. An iTunes backup contains almost all of your device's data and settings.

  • Open iTunes on your computer and connect your device to the computer. 
  • When you get a message your iPad asking if you should "Trust this computer?", follow the instructions on the screen.
  • Select your iPad when the device is displayed in iTunes.
  • Click on "Create backup now".
  • When the process is complete, you can see whether the backup has been successfully completed in Overview. Under "Last Backup" you will find the date and time of the backup.
