Solution 1. Back up an iPhone with iCloud

Back up iPhone with iCloud follow these steps:

  • Connect your iPhone to a reliable Wi-Fi network.
  • If you're using iOS 10.2 or earlier, go to Settings > scroll down to tap iCloud.
  • If you're using later than iOS 10.2, then go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud.
  • Tap iCloud Backup or Backup depending on the different system. 
  • Make sure that iCloud Backup button is turned on then click Back Up Now. 
  • Keep connecting to your current Wi-Fi network until the process completes.
  • Check for backup process > under Back Up Now, you'll see the date and time of your last backup.

Solution 2. Back up an iPhone with iTunes

  • Start iTunes and connect your iPhone to your computer with a USB cable. 
  • If a message pops up asking whether you want to Trust This Computer or not, tap Trust to continue.
  • Select your iPhone when it appears in iTunes window interface.
  • If you want to save Health and Activity data from your iPhone, you need to encrypt your backup by selecting the box called Encrypt iPhone backup and create a memorable password. 
  • If you don't need to save your Health and Activity data, you can make a backup no encrypted. Just tap Back Up Now.
  • When the process is done, you can see if the backup finished successfully on the Summary screen in iTunes. To find the backups you need by looking under Latest Backup to find the date and time.
