Part 2: How to connect to Personal Hotspot

In most of the cases, you connect to Personal Hotspot with Wi-Fi. For example, if you want to connect another smartphone to the network connection your iPhone provides, you can connect to Personal Hotspot with Wi-Fi, which requires your host iPhone to use cellular data only. (Cellular Data not working in iOS 11? Fix the issue first.)While if you want to connect PC or Mac to the Personal Hotspot your iPhone provides, you can connect to it with Bluetooth or USB.

Step 1: Check the name of the Wi-Fi network. On the iPhone that provides Personal Hotspot, go to Settings > General > About and you will see the name of the iPhone, which should be the same as the name of the Wi-Fi network.

Step 2: Check the password of the Wi-Fi network. Go to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot on the host iPhone and then you will see the Password of the Wi-Fi network as shown in the image above. (Stay on this screen until another device is connected successfully.)

Step 3: On the device that you want to connect to Personal Hotspot, go to Settings > Wi-Fi, click the name of the host iPhone in the list and then enter the password.

By the way, you can change the password of the Wi-Fi network you provide. To make it, go to Settings > Cellular > Personal Hotspot and then click Wi-Fi Password.
