iMessage is an instant messenger service for iPhone, iPad, and Mac that allows users to send SMS-like text messages and MMS-similar multimedia messages as long as you have activated iMessage. In our last post, we have talked about how to activate iMessage on iPhone X/8/8 Plus. Today, we will show you how to turn on iMessage on Mac and how to add multiple email addresses to iMessage to send and receive messages with both a phone number and email address.

How to set up iMessage on Mac Air/Pro

Turning on iMessage on Mac is quite easy to make. Do it in following ways. 

1. Run the "Messages" app on Mac, which should run OS X Mountain Lion or higher.

2. Enter your Apple ID account and password. Enter your verification code if you have two-step or two-factor authentication turned on for your Apple ID.

3. Click on the "Messages" in the menu bar and choose "Preferences".

4. Next, click "Accounts", and click "Enable this account".

5. Select the phone number or email addresses to the iMessage to send and receive messages.

How to add multiple email addresses to iMessage on Mac

You are able to send and be reached via iMessage by both phone number and email. And you can add multiple email addresses to your iMessages.

1. Run your Mac and open "Messages" application.

2. Click "Messages" and choose "Preferences".

3. Click "Accounts", and find the "Add Email" button on your right side (check the sample image above). Type the email address you'd like in iCloud/Me/Mac, Gmail, Yahoo, or Hotmail account.
