As mentioned above, you can transfer Google contacts to your iPhone with the help of iCloud. Thus you need to turn on iCloud Contacts on your iPhone in iOS 11. Go to Settings > [your name] > iCloud and then toggle on Contacts. After that, follow the steps below to learn how to sync Google contacts to your iPhone X/8/7 easily and quickly.

Step 1: Go to Google Contacts (https://www.google.com/contacts/) from your computer and log in with your Google account.

Step 2: Choose the contacts you'd like to import to your iPhone.

  • If you want to sync Google Contacts to your iPhone selectively, click the checkbox next to the contact you want to sync and then click More > Export > Selected Contacts.
  • If you want to import groups to your iPhone, choose More > Export > The group and select the group you'd like to transfer.

Step 3: In the Export Contact window, choose vCard format as the exported format and then tap on Export.

Step 4: Visit iCloud.com and sign in with your Apple ID. (Make sure you're signed in to iCloud on your iPhone X/iPhone 8/iPhone 7 with the same Apple ID to avoid problems like "iPhone contacts not syncing".)

Step 5: Choose Contacts among the options and then you will go to the iCloud Contacts page.

Step 6: Tap on the gear icon at the left bottom of the screen and choose Import vCard.

Step 7: Choose the file (.vcf) you have just exported in Step 3 and click Open. Then the selected contacts will be imported to your iCloud contacts quickly.

Step 8: Go to your iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 7 and open the Contacts App and you will see the Google contacts have been synced to your iPhone X, iPhone 8 or iPhone 7 via iCloud.
