Fixed: iPhone Keeps Shutting Down Itself

There is a really serious problem that your iPhone keeps shutting down itself. It makes you feel terrible. And you just want to go to Apple store to change another one. But, calm down first, try to update system on iPhone or make your iPhone alive with a few steps. This could be helpful.

If your iPhone is not continually shutting down itself, please try these steps.

Step 1. Backup your iPhone

Generally, it's easy to backup your iPhone with iCloud or backup iPhone with iTunes. Let's try to backup your iPhone to the computer with iTunes.

First, connect your iPhone to the computer and open iTunes.

Second, click the iPhone icon and find the option "Back Up Now".

Third, click the option "Back Up Now" to backup your iPhone.


Step 2. Upgrade system on your iPhone

Go to Settings>General>Software Update to check whether you are running iPhone on the latest iOS system, if not, please upgrade.

Step 3. Transfer files back to iPhone

If your iPhone working fine after upgrading, you can put the music on iPhone and transfer other files to from computer to iPhone too. You could turn on Airdrop, and use it for transferring, if you don't have too may large files.

First, open Airdrop and turn on the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on both Mac and iPhone.

Second, for the device which is not in your contacts, please enable "Allow me to be discovered by".

Third, drag the file in Airdrop window, or use the function "Share".

iPhone still keeps shutting down

If you iPhone keeps shutting down itself or still shut down itself after upgrading. You can try to force restart your iPhone. Few users have fixed problem with this method.

For iPhone 7/7 Plus users: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Volume Down button for around 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

For iPhone 6S and earlier users: Press and hold Sleep/Wake button and Home button for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
