How to Turn Off Siri?

In this free tutorial you will learn how to turn off Siri and disable voice control on your iPhone if Apple's language assistant annoys you or if you simply don't need it. Practically, Siri can be deactivated on both the iPhone and iPad - how exactly this works is explained in the following text. Also you can learn how to customize the home button settings for voice control and Siri on your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch.

Turn off Siri completely - Here's how it works

In iOS 10.2 or later, you can turn off the Voice Control or Siri that it won't be responding to your voice commands by holding down the Home button on your device. Proceed as follows:

Select Settings > General > Accessibility > Home Button. Select one of the following options under "Press and hold to speak":

Siri: If you hold down the Home button, Siri will answer you.

Voice Control: If you hold down the Home button, the classic Voice Control will respond. This also deactivates Siri.

Off: If you hold down the Home button, you will not receive a response.

In this case you can choose Off to turn off Siri completely. Siri is now turned off. If you hold down the Home button, the voice control starts instead of Siri.

Deactivate Siri partially- Here's how it works

You don't have to turn off Siri completely, you can choose to switch off individual aspects of Apple's language assistant. The corresponding options can also be found in the Siri menu. Here's what you can do:

  • Allow or disable Siri's access in the lock screen
  • Allow the "Hey Siri" language function
  • Change the language option in which Siri answers
  • Set if Siri gives voice feedback or outputs the response as written text only.

Tips: If you are using an iPhone and get tired of iTunes, you may want to try EaseUS MobiMover Free. This software will help you to transfer everything from iPhone to computer as a backup and get them back to iPhone whenever you want to.
