What is DFU mode

DFU (Device Firmware Update) mode is a state where your iPhone can interact with iTunes without loading iOS or activating the boot loader, which enables you to change your operating system. So if you need to put your iPhone in DFU mode, a serious problem might have happened to your iPhone.

When you need DFU mode

1. Downgrade your current iOS version on your iPhone. You will have this need, particularly when the newly updated iOS can't work properly.

2. Jailbreak or un-jailbreak your iPhone.

3. Remove an expired iOS beta version.
