Tip 1: Check network connection

iMessage needs a good network connection to work properly, either it's cellular network or Wi-Fi network. Tip 2: Update carrier settings to fix iMessage Waiting for Activation

If you are sure there is nothing wrong with your network connection, you can update carrier settings.


Tip 3: Set date, time and time zone correctly

Step 1: Go to "Settings" and choose "General".

Step 2: Choose "Date & Time" to set the date, time and time zone correctly.


Tip 4: Re-sign into iMessage

Step 1: Go to "Settings", tap on "Messages" and then choose "Send & Receive".

Step 2: Click your Apple ID and choose "Sign Out".

Step 3: Turn off "iMessage" and turn it on after a few seconds.

Step 4: Enter your Apple ID and password to re-sign into iMessage.


Tip 5: Use Airplane Mode to fix iMessage Waiting for Activation

Step 1: Open "Settings", click "Messages", and then toggle off "iMessage".

Step 2: Swipe from the bottom of the screen to open Control Center. Then click the Airplane icon to turn on Airplane Mode (your Wi-Fi connection will be turned off automatically).

Step 3: Turn on the Wi-Fi on your iPhone or iPad.

Step 4: Go to "Settings", choose "Messages" and then switch on "iMessage".

Step 5: Open Control Center to turn off Airplane Mode. Tap "OK" when you see the notification "Your carrier may charge for SMS".

Step 6: Open "Settings", click "Messages", turn off "iMessage" and then turn it on a few seconds later.
