Solution 1. Repair corrupted Template 

Close Word -> Go to Start -> Run -> Type %appdata%\microsoft\templates -> Enter -> browse for Normal.dotm file and rename it as oldNormal.dotm and reload Word

Click Start -> Control Panel -> Programs and Features. Right-click on Microsoft Office Program -> click Change -> Repair

It is recommended to check the version installed is Free or Trial because they are different versions.
