Step 1. Remove write protection from memory card by sliding the write protection tab 

Nowadays, a lot of memory cards come with a small switch on the side for write protection. So, when you are caught in the memory card is write protected error, you should first check that if your memory card has such a write protection switch. If no, you can skip to step 2. And if yes, it is switch on at most times. In this case, you can slide the switch to disable write protection.

If your memory card has no write protection tab, you can try to remove write protection from memory card using Regedit.exe. here's how to do:

1. Open Start Menu >> Run, type regedit and press Enter to open the registry editor. 
2. Navigate to the following path: 
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\StorageDevicePolicies*Double click the key WriteProtect in the right pane and set the value to 0 
3. In the Value Data Box and press OK button.
4. Exit Registry, restart your computer and then again re-connect your USB pen drive on your computer.

How to format write-protected memory card 

After removing the write protection, you can easily format the write-protected memory card with no hassle. Step 1. Connect the memory card to PC, launch EaseUS free partition software, right-click the card and choose "Format partition".

Step 4. Click "Apply" to format write-protected memory card.
