Recover the deleted and overwritten Excel files

If an Excel document is deleted, the easy recovery software - Data Recovery Wizard will scan the entire disk to find the contents of the deleted worksheet in previously saved copies or backup files. If the contents of the Excel document are overwritten, it will be regenerated from fragments of previously saved versions of the file. To search the lost office file, please refer the instruction.

To recover Excel files from a drive, please follow these steps:

If an Excel document is deleted, the Data Recovery Wizard will scan the entire disk to find the contents of the deleted worksheet in previously saved copies or backup files.

The Data Recovery Wizard supports all editions of Windows 2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/Windows 7.

If your excel files which you lost are stored in the volume, you can use this method to recover the files:

1. Download EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard, install it and launch it. Click the "Complete Recovery" button on the main window of Data Recovery Wizard.

Note: If the Excel files are stored in the volume which you deleted or damaged, you should use the "Partition Recovery" to recover the files.

2. Select the file types you want to recover. Tick 'Search all lost files automatically' to find all lost file types. Tick 'Ignore bad sectors' to skip bad sectors when scanning.

3. You can see the list of all volumes found on your computer.

4. Choose one of them and press the "NEXT" button (if you are familiar with file system details, you can change "Option" before pressing the "NEXT" button).

5. Data Recovery Wizard will read file system on selected volume.

6. This step will launch the Intelligent Searching interface to search the file system which has been used in this volume.

7. You will see Select Recognized Partition Page which list found file systems in this volume.

8. Please select one or more partitions with the file systems which you are sure or unsure.

9. And then, the Data Recovery Wizard will enter Building directories interface to find files.

10. After this scanning is finished, you'll see file/folder tree.

11. You can click "Find file by name" or "Search files" to see search office document and right click to preview the excel file.

12. Select the file or folder that you want to recover and press the "NEXT" button.

13. Select a directory and press the "NEXT" button to save the data.

Caution: Saving file(s) to the partition or drive where you are recovering data, for it may result in overwriting data and permanent data loss!
