Recently, Apple releases iOS 7.0.4 which can be regarded as a point update for this year's big iOS 7 software. Except for the usual bug fixes and improvements, Apple lists a fix for hanging Face Time calls.
As usual, you can update your iPhone in two ways. First, you can do the upgrade job over-the-air (OTA) and in-place through going to Settings > General > Software Update on your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad. It is the the fastest and most efficient way. Second, you can choose to tether up to iTunes and do a full backup, install, and restore over USB.
However, based on the experience of many users, update to iOS 7.0.4 is not so easy as you expected. It is extremely possible to encountered an error during the upgrade. Then, you may take the risk of losing contacts on iPhone. So, I strongly recommended you to backup iPhone contacts before Updating to iOS 7.0.4. If you have other important data, you can choose to backup everything on the iPhone before you attempt to update. That way, if something does go wrong, you can restore iPhone contacts from the backup file.
