Q: What is the Disk Image function used to do? Can I use it to backup my hard disk?

A: This feature is not a backup/restore function. It is designed to help our users avoid further damage on the hard disk where they want to recover data from. As we know, all the operations on the faulty partition/hard disk may cause the lost data overwritten, so with this feature, you can recover data on another healthy computer and the faulty partition/hard disk will always keep the initial state. Here is a step by step instruction about how to use this function. Please notice that it is not available in "Deleted File Recovery" mode.

1. After choosing a recovery module. Select the partition/disk which you want to recover files from.

2. Choose the "Disk Image" > "Disk Image". Then click "Next".

3. Click "..." to set the image name and where you want to locate the image files (please do not choose the location where includes lost data). Then select "Next".

4. Three files will be generated .edi, .edf, .edp after step 3. You need to move all of them to a healthy computer where you want to operate the recovery process.

5. Launch EaseUS Data Recovery Wizard on the healthy computer, choose the "Disk Image" > "Open Disk Image". Locate the .edi file and open it.

6. Then in the device list, you will find the device you want to recover data from, please select it to proceed with the recovery process.
