Can I recover files with original file name and file directory?

If you recover files from a formatted partition, you cannot recover original file/folder name of root directory, but the names of files/folders in a subfolder can be recovered correctly. In other condition, you can recover files with original file name and file directory, but the precondition is that the original information has not been covered, for example, wrote new files to the partitions.
