What is deletion?

Many people may have the misunderstanding that the files can never be undeleted when you use SHIFT+DELETE key to delete. Actually, the files just exist on the data field as they were. When we delete a file, system will only make a mark in the front of this file within FAT to mean this file is deleted and space can be used for other files. When a file is deleted on a FAT file system, its directory entry remains stored on the disk, slightly renamed in a way that marks the entry in FAT table as available for use by newly created files thereafter. Most of its name, and its time stamp, file length and most importantly its location on the disk; remain unchanged in the directory entry. The list of disk clusters occupied by the file will be erased from the File Allocation Table, however, marking those sectors available for use by other files created or modified thereafter.

2. Select the file types you want to recover. Tick 'Search all lost files automatically' to find all lost file types. Tick 'Ignore bad sectors' to skip bad sectors when scanning.
3. You can see the list of all volumes found on your computer.
4. You can select the exact drive and press the "NEXT" button to search.
5. Data Recovery Wizard will read file system on selected volume and search the files.
6. After this scanning is finished, you'll see file/folder tree.
7. Select the files or folders that you want to recover and press the "NEXT" button to save.
