I was trying to use MBR2GPT to convert my drive from MBR to GPT. However, when entering the command line in cmd, I got a message saying, 'Disk layout validation failed for disk 0' and 'Last partition too close to the end of the disk.' How to fix this? Appreciate for any help!

"Disk layout validation failed" is a common error among Windows users while using the MBR2GPT.exe tool. But do not worry, "Last partition too close to the end of the disk" can be fixed easily with 2 solutions presented below.
#1. Convert Disk to GPT via Professional Software
One of the most reputable tools is EaseUS Partition Master Professional. It provides a powerful feature that allows you to convert your disk from MBR to GPT, even if the last partition is too close to the end of the disk.
Note: Create a backup for your drive and make sure your motherboard supports the UEFI mode before the operation.
Step 1. Launch EaseUS Partition Master and select "Disk Converter."
Step 2. Choose "Convert MBR to GPT" and select your target MBR disk to start.
#2. Shrink the Target Partition First
You can also resolve the issue by shrinking the target partition to leave some space behind. It should then allow you to successfully convert the disk partition style via Disk Management.
Step 1. Open Disk Management and select your target partition.
Step 2. Right-click on the target partition and hit "Shrink Volume."
Step 3. Enter at least 1024MB to ensure the later conversion can be completed successfully.
Step 4. After that, you should be able to use Diskpart to convert the disk to GPT.
Once the disk is converted to GPT, you can extend the volume with the unallocated space you created to get its original size. However, some users report that they cannot extend the volume after the GPT conversion. Thus, it's highly recommended to use EaseUS Partition Master to ensure the convenience and success of the process.
